What is DIRUT?

 DIRUT is project acronym.

DIversification of RUral Tourism through sustainability and creativity: disseminating European experience in Ukraine.

 

What is the aim of DIRUT?

Project goal: diversification of rural tourism in Ukraine on the principles of sustainability and creativity by giving masters of study program "Economics", speciality "International Economics" in Zaporizhzhia national university and entrepreneurs in the field of rural tourism professional competencies to build business models based on European values, principles of harmonious balancing between environmental, economic and socio-cultural aspects.


What is the difference between DIRUT and any other tourism course?

DIRUT tends to introduce its students and entrepreneurs to the system of creative and sustainable business models of tourism development based on European experience.

The most attracting features of the course is interactivity. We would follow the flipped classroom pattern, providing balanced, creative and interactive group work (discussions, case-study, role simulations etc.), combination of formal and informal learning (lunch and learn, crossover learning).

To make the study process more comfortable and effective, all the course materials would be available online through the Moodle ZNU platform  https://moodle.znu.edu.ua/course/view.php?id=11303


What advantages would I get through DIRUT?

You’ll get a certificate stating your participation in an international educational project.

 

Who would teach DIRUT course?

Project team consists of experienced teachers and researchers of Economics, Rural tourism, Law, Ecology, Education, Philosophy at ZNU, which are directly related to the issues of tourism development of the European Union.

How many hours does the course comprise?

The course comprises 48 academic hours of class work and 42 hours of homework. Please consult the course syllabus for more info.

How long would DIRUT last?

The project would be funded by EU for three years – from 18.11.2020 to 17.11.2023. However, we would continue to teach the course and run some DIRUT activities after the project is closed.
